Internet! It has been … a week. I’m so happy to see you.
Thanks to everyone who shared really great thyroid information – it is just really stunning how many of us are in this boat. So much so that I worry there is something besides plain ol’ age causing this? Honestly. I feel like we need to start some sort of tribe. #HashTribe. It’s a thing.
And, because things like this come in threes, I have one separate issue I’m working on as well. So that makes the trifecta of Back, Thyroid, and this other thing, well, a pain in the ass trifecta. The goal is to have all this in hand by the end of 2013 and, oh, look! That’s in a matter of days. Tick tock, BODY.
Yesterday brought yet another round of spinal injections, because occasionally I am dumb and do things that are completely not helpful to any sort of recovery. What might that be, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. I did two really amazingly dumb things about two weeks ago:
1. I fell asleep sitting up in bed, with my laptop on my lap, and sort of … fell out of bed. Sort of. I THOUGHT I was falling out of bed, jerked awake, then I DID fall out of bed and wrenched my back a little.
2. Two nights later, I was asleep and I guess I coughed a little which sort of led to me swallowing funny which then led to me choking a little and I LEPT out of bed to the bathroom in something of a not-quite-awake-panic and… you guessed it … wrenched my back a little.
I? Am a g-ddmaned genius.
So, anyway, more shots. Let’s hope I don’t do STUNNING THINGS to impede their work, okay? Team!
For all the gauntlets this week and others have been, I am not without perspective. You see there are boys like Sam and fathers like Michael in this world, and because of finding their story I now will add “Plant 10,000 kisses each year on top of my kids heads for as long as I can,” to my LifeList. Sam’s memory will always be a blessing, Michael, because you both inspired this. And for that, I am thankful.
I haven’t shared much about the house lately because it’s in that stage where a whole bunch of uninteresting things are underway, but soon, there will be some cool pictures to see. A bunch of things have been built and painted, the fireplace is going in, the bathrooms are underway (just not the cool parts), and the doors will show up soon. There is a move date and everything! February sixth.
So here’s how 2014 begins: Pack in January, move in February, Leah’s bat mitzvah in March.
Yeah. I think 2014 is going to be a really good. It’s the best Q1 I’ve seen in years.
Thank you for this week, friends. There are times when all you want is a hug and someone to tell you everything is going to be okay – and many of you did that either in person or virtually this week. All the emails, the comments, the messages, the things that made me laugh, and private checking up on me means more than you know. I hope I can return that favor one day. I want to. Thanks for being my tribe – even if many of you only live in my computer. I’m thankful for each and every one of you. Have a wonderful week, friends, and we’ll see you back here next week. xo
