I spend a LOT of time in my bedroom. My office, for all intents and purposes, is my side of the bed. I mean, if you’re going to work in your jammies or yoga pants (ahem), you might as well be all out comfortable, right?
In years past, my bed has been dressed in pattern. This time, white. And although the bed is simple, I still want the room to be interesting – collected looking, not designed. I’m foregoing matchy-matchy furniture for complimentary pieces so that the eye travels.
So, when I found these inspiration images on Pinterest, I knew I had the beginning of a concept for the master bedroom.
It’s a bedroom, so, naturally, I want everything you touch to be luxurious and soft, but I also want a mix textures. And, for practicality, everything needs to be fairly durable, and hopefully washable, as there are still two maniacal kids in this house – and a dog-to-be.
As I’ve played around with everything the past few weeks, I’ve realized navy is the consistent color in the master suite, as it shows up in the master bathroom as well. There is still a more masculine feeling to this room, in comparison to others I’ve had, but it doesn’t overwhelm and, if you look closely, you can find some soft metallics, and even a bit of sparkle throughout.
All I need now is a cup of hot chocolate. Extra whipped cream, if you have it.
