It’s almost time to start the “fun” part of the project – dressing the house. In preparation for this part of the party, I’ve been collecting images that serve as the inspiration for each particular room.
Not every picture is an image of a room it corresponds to. Case in point: this image has become the inspiration for the master bathroom.
I thought a lot about the bathroom, maybe harder than other rooms in the house, because it serves as a key ritual at the end of my day. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that for a brief moment, I considered going bold. Really bold. But at the end of the day, I didn’t want the master bathroom to feel markedly different from the direction the master bedroom was headed – and that was a bit more of a masculine twist. There is a starkness that will be part of the master suite for a sense of airiness and calm.
For the bathroom, I wanted textures and metallic elements, but still a clean, warm feel. With the help of a special design friend, he helped me think through a few elements and I think this board represents well how the room will end up feeling. There will be a few “accessories” added to soften the space a bit, and to sparkle. After all, my perfumes need something beautiful to be displayed on, right?
The tub is extra long. Feel free to join me. Bring champagne and pizza.
