You remember those, right? Hours spent with your finger on the Record button just waiting for the radio DJ to stop talking so you can lift up and capture juuuuuust the right amount of silence before the song started? Carefully writing in your fanciest, coolest penmanship the names of the songs… coming up with just the right title you could design in smelly markers? That click of the cassette case…
You made them for your friends, your boyfriend (or girlfriend) – or the one that had your heart, but didn’t know it. Or the one that would always have your heart, and knew that, too.
“I made you a playlist,” just doesn’t seem to sound the same, ya know?
Anyway, I sort of put a stop to music for awhile, but recently I’ve been downloading songs here and there that I’ve crossed paths with, or been reminded of, and have struck a chord for one reason or another.
I’ve been a Spotify member for a little bit, but don’t use it as much as I should. I’m trying to do that more so, hey – I made this for you.
Best Day of My Life – American Authors
Because of Love – Janet Jackson
Love Will Keep Us Alive – The Eagles (not in Spotify playlist)
From Where You Are – Lifehouse
Clarity – Zedd (feat. Foxes)
Heartbreaker – Mariah Carey
Cooling of the Embers – Missy Higgins
No Church in the Wild (Great Gatsby Soundtrack) – Jay Z & Kanye (feat. Frank Ocean & The-Dream)
