Behold, the A-line dress. The most flexible and forgiving dress you will ever own. Named for the shape it makes (narrow on top, wider at the bottom), the A-line is an icon rooted in the ’60s, but as modern as it needs to be. Look for fabrics with weight so that nothing clings to places that need more forgiving and be sure to have a black one in your arsenal for the “always ready for anything” option in your closet.
We all need one of those.
Start with a well-made, perfectly fitted solid then branch out into a graphic or print. Love the ’60s vibe? Add a brightly colored tight – and some great sunglasses.
Almost any shoe will work, but, as Nina suggests, sandals or tall, heeled boots work best. Put a little extra swing in your hips – this is a working, but sassy dress.
