OPI Blue My Mind: Blue Toes in a Red State

April 28, 2011

My best friend, Wendy, is coming tomorrow for a visit all the way from Chicago. (Hi, Wendy!) It’s been two years since we’ve seen each other and I could not be more excited to spend some time with her in real life.

Wendy and I know a lot about each other. More than our husbands know, actually. Over the years we’ve discussed everything: boys, school, food, life, more boys, kids and…politics. We agree on many things, but politics was were our paths went separate ways. Often times we’d agree to disagree and go get a cocktail.

That’s friendship right there.

I cannot tell you how many times we’ve wished we lived in the same STATE, let alone the same city, but it always ended with her saying, “I just don’t know if I could ever live in a red state…” We’d laugh because it was funny – but also because it was very, very true.

So the pedicure choice today was OPI’s “Blue My Mind” – for Wendy. I figured if she was coming to visit this red state the least I could do was have blue toes.

Dear G-d, do I need a pedicure! But there is no way to maintain the paint while moving house. After the move…after the move…after the move…please G-d…after the move.

painting to hose toes blue is an awfully generous political statment for your friend. You are kind friend then I. 😉
