OF COURSE this launch party is full of party favors!
For the neck several weeks I will be giving away some of my favorite things that I’ve written about either on outsidevoice or the previous accessorywhore.
‘Cause what’s a launch party without party favors?
And this one? Is all about the edgy, glitzy, badass kind.
I’m like Oprah, but without the billions.
I cannot TELL YOU how much I adore this STEELO necklace from melis accessories. I’ve worn this before in the 15:30 challenge and gushed about some of her other jewelry as well. But this piece? Gets me stopped wherever I go. My favorite was the flight attendant that stopped me from boarding so she could find out where I got it.
And just so you know, Eric Clapton liked it so much that it was part of his gift bags for his Crossroads Festival AND it has appeared in Golden Globes gifts to Samantha Harris, Nancy O’Dell, Jewel and Lauren Bowles.
You will be so The Glitterati in this.
Want to win one? OF COURSE YOU DO! Here’s what you need to do – easy peasy.
1. Comment on the post with your favorite “This makes me feel awesome” song.
2. “Like” the Melis Accessories Facebook page.
3. “Like” the new outsidevoice Facebook page.
4. One reader will be randomly selected to win the necklace.
BONUS WINNERS:
I will take the top songs from the comments and create a “Lock It Up!” CD/playlist. 5 people would win one of those! ‘Cause it’s springtime and we all need some new top-down driving music.
Contest is open until Friday, March 11th at 9pm Central Standard Time.
GO!

Favorite “this makes me feel awesome” song??
Hands down Just Fine by Mary J. Blige
8. March 2011 at 10:36 pm
Ooooh yes I remember seeing that in your 15:30. I want one! Ok my favorite “This song makes me feel awesome” tune at the moment is Mary J. Blige, Just Fine. It was on week two of my couch to 5k podcast and it was PERFECT for that.
10. March 2011 at 3:58 pm
I bet you have an awesome running playlist
12. March 2011 at 2:03 am

Yes, I have killer running playlist(s).
8. March 2011 at 10:37 pm
Feel awesome song? Hmm… right now, either Living on a Prayer or Don’t Stop Believin… Journey is awesome for feel-good songs!

I don’t know if I can pick just one “feel awesome” song. My gut tells me ‘Dilate’ by Ani Difranco because it was my divorce song that I sang the entire time I was moving out. And that made me feel awesome. But as for top down radio blasting awesome kind of song, I’ll go with “Army of Me” by Bjork.
Isn’t that more than you ever hoped to know about me?
10. March 2011 at 3:59 pm
This is going to be one badass playlist.
9. March 2011 at 1:34 am
That is SO fabulous! Now, what song? Hmm…maybe “Diva” by Beyonce. lol

I love that necklace and have to admit that I’ve been coveting it since the first time I saw it on you. So there’s that.
Ok, for songs that make me feel awesome, I’m a little embarrassed to say “You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC, but it’s totally true. Also, “I Wanna Rock & Roll All Night” by KISS – I am amazing at air-drumming that one.
10. March 2011 at 4:00 pm
I want to see the air drumming performance first-hand.
9. March 2011 at 2:38 am
Also, I liked both you and Melis.

Kind of old school, but my favorite feeling awesome song is the 59th Street Bridge Song by Simon & Garfunkel. (Or should I say my favorite feelin’ groovy song?)
10. March 2011 at 4:00 pm
And now I’m singing “Feelin’ Groovy” in my head and it’s 1984 at camp all over again.

Favorite “this makes me feel awesome song” … sorry to kill the whole 80′s theme going on here but:
“Mississippi Girl” by Faith Hill
I cannot listen without smiling, singing & eventually dancing {even while driving ~ it mortifies the teenager!}
Also “liked” each of the FB pages ;D

Mine’s funny because I don’t play baseball, but I really get jumpin’ to: Centerfield by John Fogerty. “Put me in, coach!”
