OPI Texas Collection for Spring-Summer 2011

December 10, 2010

On my list of dream jobs is being on the team that names OPI products. Seriously. I still giggle every time I grab my Friar, Friar Pants on Fire.

For Spring/Summer 2011 OPI has taken their punny inspiration from the Great State of Texas. Yee haw, y’all! It seems this collection is not only centered around color, but texture as well as there are creams, shimmers and what appears to be a jelly-type finish.

The collection is launching in February in the UK with bottles available for £9.95 each.

Some personal favorites on first glance are Guy Meets Gal-veston (it sure does line up with the Pantone prediction for color of the year) and the cool green of Don’t Mess with OPI.

For all the Longhorn fans there is an orange, though not a burnt hue, but the Aggies will have to make due with a purple.

For a collection that is inspired by a state that is as bodacious as Texas and has in its history legendary phrases of “Come and Take It”, I would have liked to have seen a little more Texas swagger in the palette. But, I can see how a few of the colors will have some longevity and it’s not uncommon for OPI colors to grow on me the more I see them.

I love OPI for their eye and their attitude. Do you have a favorite OPI color or color name?
