There is just something about the winter season that just begs for rich textures, crisp icy color and a deep, knowing nod to nature. Perhaps it’s because I don’t live anywhere near winter that I long to have it around me. Create my own little luxe ski cabin – even if the fire in the fireplace is gas logs.
Michael Aram captures the luxe of the birch bark texture in his vases pictured above. But I have this fantasy of mixing that set with some additional vases made of the real thing. Some greenery, some twinkly, white tea lights, maybe a smattering of birch branches laying along side, a beautifully tied, deep, velvet ribbon. The perfect mantle – or tub surround in the master bathroom.
What’s your winter decor of choice?
Bonus shot: Birch bark tablescape. From a wedding on Veranda. You should really see the whole thing. Magnificent.
