Yes, I cheated again. But I have a good reason – he’s four, very cute and enjoys blueberry cereal bars at breakfast. My black pants most certainly do NOT enjoy the additional of blueberry cereal bars to them and so I had to change clothes. Quickly. Sometimes there is an upside to cheating and it is that I got to wear an entire outfit that was (a) crumb-free and, (b) really fall-ish.
I love this ensemble. What I love MOST are the accessories with it. I’ve been dying to bust out my leopard print shoes and they were so thrilled to come out and play. Today is a fine example of how mixing and matching colors and textures within a palette can work. The brown tweed-y pants, the burnt orange suede bag, leopard shoes all scream fall and are complimentary of each other.
But my most favorite piece I got to wear today is my gold beaded necklace. It is composed entirely of tiny, lightweight gold beads. It weighs NOTHING. Found by my mother hanging on a clearance jewelry rack at Macy’s (of all places) while we were browsing. (Yes, it is genetic.) It can either be a long chain or choker and it is endlessly versatile. It has even been used as a conference badge necklace for a little extra sumthin-sumthin’.

I am participating in The Ultimate Wardrobe Challenge to see if living simply with 15 items of clothing can also mean living creatively and well. I will post my ensemble every day. Join me and at the end we’ll either clean out our closets or go on a massive shopping spree. Or both!
