The Ultimate Closet Editing Challenge – 15:30 – Day 6

September 7, 2010

If you are wondering where Day Five’s post is – it is missing. Day Five found me at a funeral for a good friend’s father and taking a picture was pushed to the side. I did adhere to the guidelines of the challenge and chose black pants and a grey silky t-shirt to mark the solemn occassion.

Today is Day Six and it appears we have an introduction to hurricane season underway down in these parts. We are enjoying the “dirty side” of Hermine that is currently smacking into the southern part of the state and, as such, it is another “stay in the house and do laundry and hope the power hangs on” kind of day. Thus? Ease rules today.

15in30 Day 6

Shorts: Old Navy
Shirt: Banana Republic
Necklace: H&M
Toes: I’m Not Really a Waitress by OPI – a personal fall favorite.

I am participating in The Ultimate Wardrobe Challenge to see if living simply with 15 items of clothing can also mean living creatively and well. I will post my ensemble every day. Join me and at the end we’ll either clean out our closets or go on a massive shopping spree. Or both!

I wish I looked that pulled together when staying home. I just usually have a tank top and some pull-on shorts. You will never see a picture of me in those, oh no.

I LOVE that OPI color! I’ve been going through my nail polishes and pulling out my dark reds and burgundies. I feel odd not having my toenails polished, even in the winter when no one sees them buried in boots.

Fingers crossed that your power stays on.

Thanks, Karen! I love pulling out all the dark fall colors, too. I need to find a blood red one… any suggestions? More wine colored, but no pearl to it?

My absolute favorite red is Orly’s Bus Stop Crimson. You can get a bottle at CVS or Sally’s for about $5. I consider this a blood red, very dark and vampy. It’s a creme color, so no frost/pearl/shimmer. This is my go-to red polish in the fall and winter. Two coats is a nice red, three coats is a dark wine-red.

If you want darker, get either Revlon’s Vixen, or Orly’s Naughty. Vixen is a deep burgundy, Naughty is a purplish-red-black.

A good pic of Vixen is here –

(Wow, I know WAY too much about nail polish.)
