This Cannot End Well
People, I don’t know whether to jump for joy or be very, very concerned.
There is finally (FINA-FUCKING-LY) a Nordstrom Rack in this city.
Fourth largest city in the country and we are JUST NOW getting a Nordstrom Rack. That is just nine levels of wrong, isn’t it?
I’m hoping to go there this weekend. Maybe next week at the latest. Would it be wrong to lick the shoes? ‘Cause, you know, THE SHOES.
Breathe.
My mother has already been and reported back that there is an exorbitant amount of jeans on the floor. She has proclaimed that, “If you can’t find a pair of jeans there, you might as well just GIVE UP.”
All righty then. Gauntlet: Thrown.
Now if we could just get an H&M my retail portfolio options would be SET.
My bank account notsomuch.

HA!
I’ve never even seen a Nordstrom’s. (are you still upright?) :-)
Oh, my friend… get thee to Houston or Dallas. STAT. Better yet – let’s go together! :)
So I have this very good friend who works for Nordstrom Rack in corp. planning. I begged, pleaded, and nagged for them to open one here. One is not even enough. They are actually opening 18 Racks across the country this year! So anyway I took my 2 yr old and waited in the tremendously long line for more than half an hour to get in a the grand opening. It is nice, but of course I am from a city where I had a Rack just down the street. The shoes, they are beautiful. I did not stay long because my 2 yr old was being overrun by crazy rich ladies looking for a bargain. But I got a couple of super cute kiddo shoes for him. I posted about it just today on my blog, and I mean to take some photos of what I did buy and add them to the post tomorrow.
Oh and Rachel…you don’t know what you are missing .
I heard the kids stuff was adorable – and that there was a huge mens department as well.
And, agreed – one is not enough. And I’m really surprised it’s so close to the “real” Nordstrom. My wallet is very, very nervous about that.
It’s a sad day when Austin has a Rack before Houston. Not that I’m complaining to have access to these bargains since last summer. Nordstrom just loves ATX more. ;-)
Yeah, yeah, yeah… bite me, Knighton.
*kiss* *kiss*
“Would it be wrong to lick the shoes?”
Not if the occasion calls for it.
Agreed.
how do we lobby for an H&M?!!! i’ve been dyin for one here!
ps – i think shoe licking is only appropriate if they are stilettos.
Amen, amen! Sing it, sistah!
I have heard GREAT things about the new Rack. I am so going. We definitely need a H&M and a Trader Joe’s, then my life would be perfect!
Being from Los Angeles, I was very excited to hear about Nordie’s Rack coming to Houston. I was also very disappointed to hear it was opening in the Galleria area. Interestingly enough, the folks who can afford Nordie’s get the Rack too. Something does not seem fair about that.
