If I start to look at Beanie Babies feel free to shoot me

December 22, 2006

Well, it’s official. I think I’m developing an eBay addiction. I’ve bought a few things through the years on the site, and we all know about the latest acquisition that has hit my house OMG. But now? I seem to be searching for things just to see if I can find them. And some I feel compelled to purchase.

I just bought the matching throw pillow that coordinates with the linens I bought on eBay a year ago for my bedroom. And I seem to be asking another seller about a pair of euro shams that I could never find. Oh, and the monogrammed towels I covet for my bathroom? Well, not those. I have to “feel” my towels before buying them.

And, yes, I am looking for that elusive spoon ring that I made so much fun of earlier.

*hangs head in shame*

When I was growing up, all the cool chicks had sterling silver spoon rings. I had one, but I was not a cool chick. But, the one I had was not the one I always wanted.

You see, these rings are made out of the bottom part of the patterns of sterling silver flatware. And growing up I always thought the silver my mom & dad had was the most beautiful thing in the world. I LOVED when they brought it out (which was hardly ever shame on them). I loved it so much that I even convinced Husband to love it so we could pick for it for our wedding registry. (Thanks, Deart!)

And for years I’ve been searching for a spoon ring that matches that pattern. I found it once about five years ago, but got outbid because I was a pussy and didn’t get aggressive with my bidding. I’m still searching for it. Wallace Grand Baroque. The elusive Grand Baroque.

And so, back to the Innernetosphere to satisfy this thing that has now become a QUEST.

Come on. Make me feel better. Is there something you wish YOU could find on eBay?

It does become addictive; I agree. It’s definitely like a competition; being the final bidder is almost like winning a game.
